Holistic Health: Balancing Nutrition, Exercise, and Mindset
Health is often viewed in isolated aspects—diet, exercise, and mental well-being—but true wellness comes from a holistic approach that balances all three. A well-rounded lifestyle not only enhances physical fitness but also fosters mental clarity and emotional resilience. In the UK, where busy work schedules and convenience foods can challenge a healthy lifestyle, focusing on a holistic approach can be the key to long-term well-being.
A balanced diet is essential for maintaining energy levels, preventing illness, and supporting mental clarity. In Britain, where processed foods and quick meals are common, adopting mindful eating habits can have a significant impact.
Incorporate Whole Foods: Focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking enough water is crucial for digestion, brain function, and overall vitality.
Limit Processed Foods: Reducing sugar, trans fats, and artificial ingredients helps maintain stable energy levels.
Embrace British Seasonal Produce: Opting for locally-sourced foods not only supports sustainability but also provides the freshest nutrients.
Regular physical activity is key to a strong body and mind. Whether it’s cycling through the countryside, joining a yoga class, or simply walking in the park, incorporating movement into daily life is essential.
Find an Activity You Enjoy: Exercise shouldn’t feel like a chore—try different activities until you find one that excites you.
Incorporate Movement into Daily Life: Walking or cycling instead of driving, using stairs, or even gardening can help maintain an active lifestyle.
Strength Training and Flexibility: Incorporating resistance training and stretching into routines supports mobility and injury prevention.
Utilise Public Spaces: The UK offers many public parks, trails, and free fitness initiatives like Parkrun to encourage physical activity.
A positive mindset is just as crucial as physical health. Stress and mental fatigue can take a toll, but developing a strong mental framework helps maintain overall well-being.
Practice Mindfulness: Activities such as meditation, journaling, and deep breathing can help manage stress.
Set Realistic Goals: Progress is more sustainable when approached in manageable steps rather than drastic changes.
Prioritise Rest and Recovery: Sleep and relaxation are fundamental to a healthy body and mind.
Seek Support: Whether through therapy, self-help resources, or support groups, talking about mental health can be transformative.
True well-being isn’t about extreme diets or rigorous exercise but about finding a balance between nutrition, movement, and mental health. By taking a holistic approach, you can create sustainable, healthy habits that enhance your quality of life. Start small, stay consistent, and enjoy the journey to becoming the best version of yourself.

My radio top tips 👀
Today I was invited to speak on #bbcradioberkshire
and I was asked to share my top tips of how to stay active in the cold weather! 🥶
It was a pleasure to be asked and here’s what I spoke about:
1️⃣ Embrace the Fresh Air - Even a 20 minute brisk walk is enough to get your heart rate up in the cold weather and a dose of fresh air does wonders for our mood 🚶♂️🚶♀️
2️⃣ Buddy Up for Motivation - Accountability is key especially in the colder and darker months. So find a friend, family member, or neighbour that will be up for joining you for a weekly walk or workout. You’re more likely to stick to it if you’re keeping active with someone 💪
3️⃣ Keep it Simple and Consistent - Remind yourself that consistency beats perfection. Identify what movement you want to do and start small. It could be stretching when you wake up or do a few squats while brushing your teeth. It all adds up! Find little pockets of time in your day to move more! ✅
Waiting to feel ‘ready’ is one of the biggest traps your brain sets to keep you comfortable.
‘Feeling Ready’ is a myth 😳
The only way to find motivation and drive is by doing the thing you’re avoiding!
So I’d love to know what’s one action you are taking to keep moving, especially in the cold?

Will This Matter in 5 Years?
We’ve all been there—putting things off, telling ourselves we’ll deal with it later. But let me ask you this: Will this matter in 5 years?
When it comes to your health, the answer is almost always yes. Your energy, confidence, fitness, and overall wellbeing are what drive every other part of your life. So if it matters, why haven’t you done something about it yet?
Starting can feel hard—we get it. Maybe it’s fear of failure, not knowing what to do, or feeling like gyms are intimidating. But that’s why we created The Better You Project, our private training studio in Woodley. It’s a space designed to remove those barriers and make your fitness journey simple, effective, and tailored to you.
We hear it all the time—“Your health is your real wealth.” Yet so many people neglect it for things that don’t help them, and in many cases, take them further away from what they truly need. Are you that person?
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to take charge of your health, this is it. Let us help you:
• Create a plan that works for you and your lifestyle.
• Provide the support, accountability, and guidance to stay on track.
• Break through the noise of fad diets and quick fixes to build real, lasting results.
We all have different challenges, but nothing changes until you take action. Our private studio is a judgment-free space where you can focus on you, with the support you need every step of the way.
So, ask yourself again—Will this matter in 5 years? If the answer is yes, let’s make today the day you start. Message us now to book your free consultation and take that first step towards the better you.
Your future self will thank you.

Did you know the average person stays on The Better You Project programme for over a year?
Sounds like a long time, right?
Especially when the programme itself is just 12 weeks.
Now, I’d love to say it’s because they can’t get enough of me (😅), but the truth is bigger than that.
It’s more than a fitness programme.
Yes, you’ll see results that speak for themselves—no question there.
But the real magic comes from the community we’ve built.
You’ll connect with people who get it. People who’ve been where you are
Feeling overwhelmed, unsure and stuck in a cycle of starting and stopping.
They’ll help you develop a mindset that isn’t just strong for your fitness journey, but for life.
With their support—and ours—you’ll crush your goals and keep pushing for more.
Because you’re not doing this alone.
You’re part of something bigger.
And if you’re feeling like:
👟 Going to the gym without a plan is overwhelming
🥗 Sorting out your nutrition is a minefield
🧠 Working on your mindset solo feels impossible
Then I’ve got you.
This is your invite to join The Better You Project.
Together, we’ll simplify the chaos and build the confidence, tools and results you’ve been searching for.
Are you ready to take that step? Let’s do this. 💪

You’re Not Always Going to Be Motivated.
Let’s get real: there will be days when motivation is nowhere to be found. Days when you feel derailed, overwhelmed, or just plain exhausted. Days when life throws everything at you and getting through the day is a win in itself.
It’s easy to think we have to give 100% all the time.
but that’s not realistic
or sustainable
On those tough days, remember this: giving 10% is still better than giving up entirely.
A short walk, a healthy meal, a few minutes of deep breathing…
these small actions count. They may not feel like much in the moment, but they keep you moving forward.
Consistency isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing up, even if you’re not at your best. Because over time, those small, seemingly insignificant efforts add up and build resilience. It’s about being kind to yourself, honouring what you can do, and trusting that every bit of effort keeps you closer to your goals.
So, next time you feel like it’s just “one of those days,” give yourself permission to give what you can, even if it’s only 10%. You’re still moving forward, and that’s what matters. 💪✨

Happy Hump Day! You’ve Made It to Wednesday!
Well done for pushing through the week so far.
How are you feeling?
What’s on the horizon for you this weekend?
Any plans that excite you or help recharge your energy?
For me, the weekend is a time to reset and fill my cup. This weekend, we’re hosting one of our regular community walks.
It’s such a beautiful way to switch things up
No gym, just fresh air, meaningful conversations and walking together with like-minded people.
It’s not just about movement but about connection, both with each other and with nature.
We’re all on our own journeys, but experiences like these make it so much more powerful.
Whether it’s to share stories, support each other, or simply enjoy being present, it’s a reminder that community can enhance our growth in so many ways.
What’s your weekend looking like? Whatever it is, I hope it’s something that fills you up!

It works both ways
Yesterday afternoon, something shifted for me.
My client… well
he’s more than a client… my friend, invited me for coffee.
It felt a bit strange, honestly, because I’m usually the one who takes others out. But there we were, talking about life, business, family, and everything in between.
He has been part of my life for a decade. I’ve been his coach through so many stages of life. I’ve seen his kids grow up into teenagers and young adults, and I’ve watched him evolve too—through stressful days and triumphant ones. We’ve been through highs and lows together, like when I was in the hospital, barely holding on. He called me, asking if there was anything he could do to help, even offering to ease the financial burden as my mortgage loomed over us, right when we’d just moved into our home. Who does that?
Now, a decade later, we’re still here. We talk about our futures and our goals, and I still see him twice a week. It makes me laugh because he’s always six minutes late to every PT session. But our relationship has never been just about fitness. Over the years, he’s counselled me too. He’s become more than a client; he’s a confidant, a friend, someone who always brings wisdom and care into every conversation.
You see, he has taught me so much, though he probably doesn’t even realise it. His values, his hunger for improvement, his kindness—he embodies qualities that make me stop and reflect on the type of person I want to continue to become. I often talk about how I try to surround myself with people who share the same core values as me. You can listen to advice from many, but only truly take it to heart from a select few. For me, he is one of those people.
I guess this post is my way of saying thank you. Thank you, he, for being in my life. For showing me that we grow through our connections with others. We’ve faced so many roadblocks, but with the right people by your side, those obstacles don’t seem so impossible. Watch this space, because with friends like him around, there’s always more to come.
What a guy he is. And I’m grateful every day that he’s a part of my life.
(He wanted to keep anonymous because that’s the kind of guy he is)

Embracing Vulnerability: The True Strength of Being Human
“Difficult times breed strong people.”
We’ve all heard it before, right? But there’s a part of the story that’s often overlooked.
It’s not just about being strong, pushing through, or staying tough.
True strength also comes from being vulnerable and embracing the emotions that come up along the way.
It’s okay to feel down, to experience frustration, sadness, or even grief when life throws challenges at us.
Being human means feeling it all—the highs and the lows.
Acknowledging that you’re struggling doesn’t make you weak.
In fact, it makes you incredibly strong because it means you’re not running away from what’s hard or uncomfortable.
We are often conditioned to believe that strength means keeping it together at all times, suppressing emotions, or pretending everything is okay.
But there’s so much power in simply saying, “I’m having a tough time.”
It’s in this honesty and openness that we connect deeply with ourselves and others.
Remember: resilience isn’t just built by enduring hardships but by allowing yourself to feel and process your emotions.
So, if you’re feeling down, give yourself permission to feel it.
Sit with those emotions.
Cry if you need to.
Talk to someone.
Journal it out.
You’re allowed to feel every bit of it.
True strength isn’t the absence of struggle; it’s the courage to show up authentically despite it.
You are strong, you are human and it’s okay to not be okay.

Just had an incredible chat with Tommy @otptommy at Sonning Golf Club. What started as a chance encounter turned into a deep conversation about life, fitness and business.
I absolutely love these off-the-cuff chats, where the flow of ideas and energy is so organic.
One of the questions I asked him was, “What do you want to achieve in the next 6 months?”
His answer stays between us 😉
Tom is such a humble guy, yet radiates incredible energy, dedication and creativity.
It’s conversations like these that remind me how blessed I am to connect with such inspiring people.
Here’s to more unexpected moments that fuel growth and inspiration!
Keep smashing it @onlythepoets

What boundaries do you need to set in your relationships?
One of the most powerful ways to protect your energy, focus, and peace of mind is by setting clear boundaries in your relationships.
Whether personal or professional.
Boundaries are not about shutting people out.
They’re about creating space for mutual respect, understanding, and growth. They help you stay aligned with your values and ensure that your time and energy are spent in ways that truly matter to you.
So, ask yourself: What boundaries do you need to set to protect your well-being and achieve the balance you deserve?
(This picture is from a beautiful sunset from a conference I attended in Ibiza this past weekend)
